Red Bridge

Architecture - Deshaies

Built in the early 20th century over the Deshaies River, this footbridge, known as “Pont Rouge“ (“Red Bridge”) was designed for pedestrians using paths to reach Battery Point and the villages of Côte-sous-le-Vent. It consists of a horizontal bridge deck and two metal crossbars resting on masonry abutments. Lattice guard rails are embedded in stone pillars framing either end.
