This spectacular beach is attractive for snorkeling. It is also an important archeological site. A study launched in 1995 revealed successive occupation periods between 400 (Saladoid era) and 1400 C.E. Findings include over 400 dwelling postholes, approximately forty primary burials (nearly intact skeletons)—some with offerings—and many object fragments (ground stones, utensils, shell fishhooks, pottery, ceramics, decorated shells), pieces of manioc griddles, as well as the bones of animals, manatees, agoutis, turtles, and more.
