Town Hall

Architecture - Pointe-Noire

Destroyed by the hurricane of 1928, the town hall was rebuilt by the architect dispatched to the colonies by the French government, Ali Tur, who was responsible for the construction of many public buildings. The simple rectangular layout is a reflection of local architecture. The building is equipped with louvered panels and high ceilings to improve ventilation. The flat roof reduces the effect of wind force during hurricane-force storms.
