Built to replace the former covered market, which had been built in 1954, and completely renovated in 2011, the Saint-François central market welcomes fruit and vegetable vendors, spice merchants, and artistic craftsman daily to sell their wares. This local gathering place is also made available to schools and organizations for cultural, artistic, and festive events. The ground floor contains a meeting and performance space. The market is central to daily life in downtown Saint-François and is open day and night.
