Rodriguez Cove

Beach - Terre-de-Haut

Anse Rodrigue, Guadeloupe, is a little bit of paradise tucked between two rustic cliffs. Its fine sand beach faces Grand Islet (a bird sanctuary). Very sunny in the morning, the beach is shaded by coconut palms and almond trees. Watch out for manchineel trees and their poisonous sap; standing beneath them when it rains can result in painful burns. A wide red band is painted around their trunks as a warning. The crystal clear waters here are perfect for snorkeling, although the sea can sometimes be turbulent.
