Boat Cove

Beach - Saint-François

Here at the mouth of the Anse à la Barque River, visitors will find mangrove swamps and vegetation common to the inter-tropical zone:  woody shrubs (red, black, white, and gray mangroves), liana vines, and grasses that thrive in salty, partly-submerged, oxygen-poor soils. Anse à la Barque (Saint-François, Guadeloupe) is part of an environmental protection program aimed at preserving and developing the commune’s natural heritage. It is frequented not only by fishermen, but also swimmers on holiday seeking a quiet bit of shady sand.
