The Marsolle family, arrived in Guadeloupe with the first French, began the sugar business around 1700. Visit of the distillery working with its paddle wheel. La Maison de l'Habitation (the main house) is an authentic Creole house in colonial style, with period objects preserved by the Marsolle family and also the sets of the Franco-British series "Murder in Paradise". O 'Séverin restaurant offers Creole, French and Cajun dishes. O 'Séverin is open Monday to Saturday noon, service between 11:30 and 15:00.
