Sé la vi la ki pli bèl (“Life is Beautiful”) Sculpture

The fountain sculpture entitled Sé lavi-la ki pli bèl (“c’est la vie qui est plus belle” or “life is beautiful”) is the work of internationally renowned Guadeloupe painter and sculptor Michel Rovelas. It was commissioned during the major oceanfront improvements begun in 1995, and symbolically marks the entrance to the seat of government. Constructed of composite materials-resin, concrete, steel, ceramics, and marble-it depicts 4 rearing horses around three pillars surmounted by a frigate bird.
