Town Hall

Architecture - Baillif

Erected in 1931 in the wake of the devastating hurricane of 1928, this building bears the mark of the architect Ali Tur. The flat-roofed, reinforced-concrete structure was built facing the ocean to take advantage of offshore breezes, with wide circular openings and venetian blinds. It has since been modified and expanded, and of the initial structure only a few elements of the façade remain, including the central balcony, coffered canopy, cornices, and bays.
