Grand Cove Beach

Beach - Deshaies

This two-kilometer strip of golden sand bordered by raisinier (“sea grape”) trees and palms, extends from Pointe Le Breton to Pointe Gros Morne, and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Basse Terre—not to mention, the longest. Its coconut palms provide welcome shade to visitors, especially picnickers, with whom the beach is particularly popular. No lifeguards. It is possible to explore the mangroves by canoe from a lake formed in 1975 by an old gravel pit fed by the Mitan river.
