The commune of Terre-de-Bas offers over ten kilometers of exceptionally pleasant hiking trails, featuring lush tropical flora and spectacular views from the heart of island. There are four marked level 1 or 2 trails, with explanatory panels at each trailhead. The Trace du Dessus de l'Etang (“Top of the Pond Trace”), marked in blue, is a Level 1 trail (allow 1 hour and 15 minutes from Grande Anse to Route du Nord). Also known as “Trace du Nord,” it arrives at the Route du Nord “Belvédère” view point in 20 minutes. The Trace du Pied de l'Etang (“Foot of the Pond Trace”), marked in red, is a Level 1 trail (allow 45 minutes from the Route du Nord to Grande-Anse). The Trace des Falaises (“Cliff Trace”), marked in yellow, is a Level 2 trail (allow 3 hours from Anse à Dos to Grande Anse). The Trace du Morne (“Hill Trace”), marked in orange, is a Level 1 trail (allow 45 minutes from the Route du Nord to Petites-Anses).
