Public Park and Fountain

Residents and visitors alike enjoy this peaceful green space developed on the site of a former sugar refinery. The park is a favorite setting for cultural and tourist events. The Fontaine d'Amour (“Fountain of Love”) was created in 1786 and reinstalled in the 1960s in the garden next to the Town Hall. It is of stone construction, with river rocks forming the floor of the curvilinear basin. The fountain was formerly located at the Château-Seurette plantation, of which there is no other trace. Inspired by the baroque, its double staircase is particularly elegant.
