Beloved by Guadeloupians, this long, shady, white-sand beach stretches over nearly 500 meters of coastline. It was once very popular for Easter celebrations, but in 2012 the municipality outlawed camping in order to prevent the deterioration of the site’s natural features. Its generally calm, shallow waters make it a very pleasant place to swim, but caution must be exercised, as the waves can get very high and the current very strong. The beach is prized by walkers and other athletes, who often come here to exercise at dusk and dawn. Just behind the row of trees lies the shoreline trail, a scenic path winding its way between grasslands, mangrove swamps, and the sea.
